About the Author
Given the url, it is fairly obvious who the site is authored by: Steven J. Barnes.
Initially trained as a visual artist, Steven then pursued a B.Sc., M.A., and a Ph.D.--all in Behavioural Neuroscience from the Department of Psychology at the University of British Columbia (UBC). During his Ph.D. work, Steven became interested in the topics of Long Term Potentiation and Metaplasticity; he went to Germany to pursue research along those lines as a Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellow at the Life & Brain research institute at the University of Bonn. During his postdoctoral work, Steven fell in love with computer programming and computer-aided design; he became especially interested in the production of interactive scientific visualizations and art works. He attended the School of Interactive Arts and Technology at Simon Fraser University to gain additional training in those topics.
Steven still teaches Psychology and Neuroscience at UBC, but the rest of his time is spent pursuing computer programming and design both as part of his business partnership in Two Brained and for fun.
Steven currently live in Vancouver, Canada and can be contacted via email.
